Members present:
- Rinita Mazumdar

The first item discussed was the change of Directors. Rinita asked Ayana to update the Director list by removing Anusree’s name and adding Komolike and Sutapa as the second and third Directors. Ayana confirmed it can be done soon, but it requires Rinita’s signature. Additionally, the bank signature needs to change since Anusree is no longer a Director. Rinita proposed Sutapa as the third Director, which was approved by Komolike.
Projects completed in 2024–2025:
- Rinita’s video lectures on feminism, colonialism, and jihad.
- Rinita’s course on genocide.
- Saraswati Puja.
- Pathra Temple visit.
Rinita mentioned she has written a cheque from the Sowaka SBI fund to her account to pay the digital team supporting the Biomedical Ethics course.
Next, Sutapa presented the Daspur project. She emphasized that it will require time and effort and can’t be completed all at once. Initial work will begin in 2025 with more to follow. She also suggested each member deposit Rs. 1000 into the Sowaka Harshita Foundation's State Bank of India account to support ongoing projects.
Komolike recommended introducing different membership types, starting with lifetime membership. Members would contribute financially, helping establish a steady funding stream for the foundation.

Hello All,
Good Morning.
Here are the minutes of the meeting for Friday, June 6, 2025.
Meeting started: 8:55 PM IST
Members present:
- Rinita Mazumdar
- Sutapa Baul
- Komolika Majumdar
- Aishwarya Ghosh
Also present (non-members): Kaustav Sanyal, Anusree Hansa
Biomedical Ethics Course: Proposed date July 2025. Kaustav Sanyal, course designer for Sowaka Harshita Foundation, said that it is best that the course fee be Rs. 2000 for students. Rinita suggested that it should be Rs. 3000 for professionals like practicing doctors and nurses, but students who register would be given a discount of Rs. 2000.
Director Resignation: Anusree Hansa came in and talked about her resignation from the Directorship of Sowaka Harshita Foundation. Anusree said that it was difficult for her to be the Director due to time constraints. Anusree's resignation was accepted by the Directors and the Board members.
Rinita informed Anusree that she has to sign the letter, which also requires a Sowaka stamp, and it will be submitted to SBI for them to change the name in the checkbook. Without the signature, SBI is unable to change the authorities for internet banking.
All the above will be done in due course. One area of constraint is that Anusree Hansa is still shown as the Director in the Government portal. The new Directors are:
- Dr. Rinita Mazumdar
- Komolika Majumdar
- Sutapa Baul
Meeting ended: 9:20 PM IST

Minutes of Sowaka Harshita Meeting on Friday, August 1, 2025
Minutes taken by: Rinita Mazumdar
Meeting started at: 8:00 PM IST
Meeting ended at: 8:40 PM IST
Attended by the following:
- Dr. Rinita Mazumdar
- Sutapa Baul
- Ayana Banerjee
- Nilanjana Bagchi
- Kaustav Sanyal (Guest, attending on behalf of KAABHARAT, who is designing the courses and taking care of the website for Sowaka Harshita Foundation).
The meeting started at 8:00 P.M. First, the issue of the tuition fees for the upcoming online course Biomedical Ethics to be taught by Rinita Mazumdar was brought up by Rinita. The proposed start date of the course is September 2025. Rinita reported to the members present that during her conversation with the representatives of KAABHARAT it was suggested that the payment could be on a sliding scale. Since, this is a course whose primary field is the practice of medicine, it is probable that doctors, health care workers, nurses, and students in the field would take the course. It was suggested by the KAABharat representative that doctors should be charged Rs. 20,000/. It is an 8 weeks course, with once a week 1 hour 15 minutes every Saturday, and some weeks with twice a week classes, Saturday and Sunday. Also, the content is complex and will need a lot of notes, PPT, and of course the text of Biomedical Ethics, all of which will be provided by Sowaka Harshita in conjunction with KAAbharat, whose platform they are using. Some of the Board members of Sowaka suggested that it is still a bit too expensive, even though it is on a sliding scale.
Ayana, Sowaka’s legal counsel, said that the usual rate of lectures posted on Youtube is much lower and that people have so many lectures nowadays that they may not be willing to pay Rs. 20,000 for one course. Kaustav from Kaabharat said that they used a market research on the prospect of this course in India and it looks like it is still a very rare one in India and people in the health care business still are not aware of the issues pertaining to Biomedical Ethics. Kaustav also mentioned that this rate is negotiable, and can be reduced depending on how much the client can pay. Also, Kaustav mentioned that this can be marketed outside of India where there is a huge market for this course, as it is mandatory in the health care field in nations like the United States, Canada, and the UK. Ayana agreed to this proposal. This is an ongoing discussion since it is a very new topic, and more market research on the prospect of this course has to be known before putting the word out.
Kaustav Sanyal and Nilanjana Bagchi left around 8:15.
The next thing discussed by Rinita, Sutapa, and Ayana was about the Temples and the work to be done around it. Sutapa mentioned that Daspur II block is still in the radar, except that due to excessive rains, the place is not accessible, so we have to postpone the project till the rain stops and these places become accessible.
Also, a time and date was discussed when all three, Rinita, Sutapa, and Ayana will visit the State Bank New Alipore Branch next week to change the name of Director of Sowaka Harshita Foundation in the bank account and the checkbook.
The meeting was adjourned at: 8:40 PM
