Who are we?

Dr. Rinita Mazumdar is one of the Directors who heads Sowaka Harshita Foundation. It is primarily a safe place for people to express, dialogue, discuss, and debate about issues individually and collectively that leads to healing and empowerment

The organization is a registered nonprofit organization based in India and has 2 directors (both trained therapists) and 7 board members (comprising of therapists and legal experts) and hopes to bring together philosophers, psychologists, psychoanalysts, scientists, engineers, legal advocates, experts in literature, drama, politics, history, archeologists, geographers. Together they will teach, dialogue and advocate for individual and collective healing and expression. Side by side students will learn to articulate and express issues that are vital to their well-being. From time-to time online classes will be conducted in one’s native language so that individuals get an insight into their own lives and the world around them. Apart from traditional Western therapy, Eastern philosophy, that is therapeutic, will also be used and taught. In addition, a completely new and innovative therapy will be provided called “Ruins and recollection”. This therapy is a brainchild of Dr. Rinita Mazumdar. This is a therapy that comprises of several parts that will be worked out via journal entries of clients.

Here clients will visit important historical and archeological sites (preferably in groups) and ruins and will note down their histories, creation, ups and downs, as far as they can on one side of their journal. On the page facing that page, clients will write about their own histories, childhood memories, ups and downs. After noting the two, clients will make a comparison of the historical life of a ruin and their own lives and share it with a group.
