755-74 (roughly): Abbasid Caliph al-Mansur sent Hasham bin Amru for waging holy war (Jihad) against Hindu territories. He subdued Kashmir and took many prisoners and slaves… (Elliot 7 Dawsn, Vol 1, p 122-3).
Naval Jihad in 775 A.D.: Ibn al-Athir, of the Shayban lineage of the large and influential Arab Islamic tribe records in that during Caliph Al-Mahdi’s reign, Abdul Malik led a large naval Jihad expedition against Indian in 775 A.D.. They disembarked at Barada and in the sustained battle with the people of the neighborhood, the Muslim army prevailed.
813-33 (roughly); During Caliph al Mamun’s reign Commander Afif bin Isa led an expedition against the revolting Hindus. After defeating and slaughtering them, the surviving 27,000 men, women and children were enslaved (Eliot & Dawson, p, 247.) T
he next Caliph, al-Mutasim’s governor of Sindh, Amran bin Musa attacked and defeated Multan and Kandabil, and “carried away its inhabitants as captives”. (Eliot & Dawson, p, 128).
