Islamic Invasion Of Kashmir: Genocide, Conversion, Iconoclasts

1389-1413: Ferishtah records that during the rule of Sikhandar, the seventh sultan of Kashmir, issued an order that proscribing the residence of any other than Mohamedans in Kashmir and he required that no man should wear a tilak on his forehead (as won by Hindus)… Lastly, he insisted on all golden and silver images being broken and melted down, and the metal coined into money. Several Hindus poisoned themselves rather than convert, some escaped, and some converted to Islam. After their emigration, Sikandar ordered all the temples in Kashmir to be thrown down… Having broken all the images in Kashmir, he acquired the title of the Iconoclasts., Destroyer of Idols, Sikandar Butsikahn…(Ferishtah, 1829).
