It is worth mentioning that all the elected Hindu leader of the pre-partition Bengal legislatures, including Hindu communists — Mr. Jyoti Basu and Mr. Ratanlal Brahman —other leftists and all Congress Party Members voted for partition of Bengal into Hindu west Bengal and Muslim east. Mr. Basu is a native of Dhaka in Bangladesh while Mr. Brahman is a Nepali speaking Bengal citizen from Darjeeling Hill area. Mr. Basu chose not to live in his Muslim majority Pakistan/Bangladeshi homeland. ….
